Stripe. Each price tier is a payment link carrying a completed-sessions limit, and Stripe deactivates the link on the final sale. Verified on 2026-08-12 with a link capped at one sale: the second attempt was refused and the link's own active flag had flipped to false.

Do I lose anything when the edition closes?

No. You keep the file, with unlimited personal and commercial use, and there is no account or licence check that can be turned off. Corrections to the object still reach you at no further cost.

Will a retired object come back later, or go into a bundle?

Twenty-five copies, then the object is retired permanently. The cap is enforced by the payment processor, not by our restraint — here is exactly how, and what retirement means on both sides of it.

01Twenty-five, then closed

Every object is sold in an edition of 25. The first five go at a founding price, the remaining twenty at the standard price, and when the twenty-fifth sale completes the object is retired permanently. It is not re-released, not bundled, and not discounted later.

02The cap is not enforced by us

Each price tier is a Stripe Payment Link carrying a completed-sessions limit. Stripe deactivates the link itself on the final sale, so the cap holds without anyone at Goldenboy deciding to honour it.

Verified 2026-08-12 against a link capped at one sale: the second purchase was refused with "The link is no longer active", and the link's own active flag had flipped to false.

This matters because a scarcity claim that depends on the seller's discipline is worth nothing. Ours depends on the payment processor refusing to take a twenty-sixth payment, which is a mechanism a buyer can reason about without trusting us.

03What retirement means if you own one

You keep the file. There is no account, no licence server, no expiry, and nothing that can be switched off.
Your rights do not change: unlimited personal and commercial use, modification, and client work, with no attribution owed.
No new copies are ever sold, so the population of that page stops growing at 25.
Corrections to an object reach existing owners at no further cost, at the same delivery link.

04What retirement means for this site

Nothing is unpublished. A retired object keeps its URL, and the index keeps its record: what it was, what it demonstrated, and which object took its place. A closed edition is a finished piece of work, not an embarrassment to delete — and a reader who arrives at a retired object should land on something worth reading, with the current object one click away.

05How buying and delivery work

Checkout is a Stripe-hosted payment link — one payment, no account to create. After payment you are returned to the object's own page carrying a checkout session reference; the payment is verified server-side against Stripe, and the HTML document is released as a direct download. There is no waiting period and no manual step.

A session reference in a URL is a thing to check, never proof of payment on its own — entitlement is decided only by retrieving the session from Stripe and reading its payment status. That is deliberate, and it is why a hand-typed link cannot fetch the file.

06Why sell this way at all

Because the alternative changes what the thing is. An unlimited template is sold to as many people as will buy it, and its value to any one of them falls with every sale. An edition of 25 caps that. It also caps us: a closed object is closed revenue, so the only way to keep going is to make another object rather than re-sell the last one.
